Late Stage GOP Fascists Events 🖕🏾🍊🤡 (Part 4)

Yeah, same around here. The people who went to the snake-handling churches tended to be from really poverty stricken areas… But they sure as shit weren’t fascists with designs to take over the whole country. Religious people like Mike Johnson look down on people with these kinds of idiosyncratic practices and would do all they can to wipe them out, because they’re non-conforming. And far too many people would cheer them on, just because they’re a little strange.

As always, the fascist approach to dealing with hate crimes is “it’s not a ‘crime’ if we legalize it!”

But Vance’s new identity as the MAGA militant has existed alongside — and, at times, served to obscure — another influential role that Vance has taken on in Washington. In certain conservative circles, Vance has emerged as the standard-bearer of the “New Right,” a loose movement of young, edgy and elite conservatives trying to take the ideological revolution that began under Trump — including his overt embrace of nationalism, his hard-line stance on immigration, his vocal opposition of U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts like Ukraine and his overt skepticism toward certain liberal democratic principles — in an even more radical direction. Unlike Trump’s more conventional Republican followers, Vance’s New Right cohort see Trump as merely the first step in a broader populist-nationalist revolution that is already reshaping the American right — and, if they get their way, that will soon reshape America as a whole.

Vance is much scarier than a lot of the other GOP politicians. If the GOP fails to break apart and dissolve in reponse to (hopefully) losing big this fall, the “Redneck Whisperer” has the chance to take up the MAGA mantle where less charismatic but equally reprehensible fascists would fail.

That is truly nightmare fuel. Thanks, man!

I’d love to know why DeSantis makes such a distinction between this and IVF? (Yeah, no, rhetorical question!)

Cell-cultivated meat “is developed in a lab, grown from a sample of animal cells that does not require the slaughter of animals.” In other words, it’s actually meat. The development of cell-cultivated meat, the CRS explained, happens in five steps: the biopsy of animal cells, cell banking, cell growth, harvesting, and food processing. It’s an industry that has heavy oversight in the U.S. by both the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

with MoRon so dead-set against “lab cultured meat”, just makes me want to try it all the more!
in his sick mind, the slaughter is the point. “that’s what they get fer bein cows (or pigs or chickens, etc.)”
as always with these MFers, the cruelty IS it he point. “you can’t make cruelty-free meat in florida! no! you have to be able to kill it to eat it!” - desantis, probably, as he stamps his little booties.

It’s almost as if they’re worried about censorship pushed by conservatives and they don’t like how they disapprove of certain speakers being misconstrued by conservative media

There was no difference between Democratic students and Republican students. But there was a gender gap, with 74% of men but just 61% of women arguing for expanded speech

that’s a pretty big difference and it makes me wonder what the racial demographics of that poll were. and also, which colleges they polled…
