White people are more resistant to prison rehabilitation? Guess the insurrectionists should never be let out then. Too high a risk of reoffending.

WASHINGTON (AP) โ€” The Supreme Court overturned the bribery conviction of a former Indiana mayor on Wednesday in an opinion that narrows the scope of public corruption law.

The high court sided 6-3 with James Snyder, who was convicted of taking $13,000 from a trucking company after prosecutors said he steered about $1 million worth of city contracts their way.

Snyder, a Republican, has maintained his innocence, saying the money was payment for consulting work.

His attorneys argued before the high court that prosecutors hadnโ€™t proved there was a โ€œquid pro quoโ€ exchange agreement before the contracts were awarded, and prosecuting officials for gratuities given after the fact unfairly criminalizes normal gift giving.

In the decision, did the majority write up a hypothetical in which public officials, we will use a fictional federal agency called the โ€œCupreme Sourt,โ€ take money or goods from wealthy โ€œfriendsโ€ while hearing cases in front of the โ€œSourtโ€ by those very wealthy individuals?

When the American adaptation of The Birdcage was released in 1996 โ€œdeath penalty for abortion!โ€ was still considered a cartoonish over-the-top caricature of the American right-wing policy.

What a dumb time to be alive.

Darrell Scott, a Black pastor from Cleveland who has been close to Trump for more than a decade, has accused Kirk of breeding a new generation of Hitler Youth. Scott told the Guardian that Kirk was damaging Trumpโ€™s chances of winning in November by alienating Black voters.

โ€œKirk talked all this negative shit about Black people, and his proximity to President Trump caused people to wonder: Is that what Trump is thinking too? I have publicly refuted Kirk because every vote counts,โ€ Scott said.

Yes, that really is what Trump is thinking, when heโ€™s thinking. Otherwise itโ€™s racist reflex activity. How could you not get that after more than a decade??

Oh well, being a Trump lackey has a been good for him.

While campaigning from the pulpit may be taboo in some churches, Cabrera says his church is not a 501(c)3, not a non-profit, so he has no problem talking about his politics to his flock.

Interesting, if true.
