A few years ago I had to make some lightweight bookshelves for a theatre set and ended up cutting the spines off dozens upon dozens of old romance novels. I got them free from a few local second-hand and charity shops - it turns out there’s almost no market for used hardcover romance novels and they were more than happy to give them to me on the stipulation that I didn’t bring back what I didn’t use.
heh. I used to take the “free” library discards and eviscerate them, chop them up, drop them into garbage cans etc. for “art”. It did indeed invoke a strong reaction in people.
That looks like plywood painted white to me.
My bad eyes, you’re right. Oh FFS! “Jockeying for a high spot in the Darwin Awards is no way to go through life, son.”
