OH MY GOD MY HERO
runs to 3d print
um…no? Not if you have access to a 3-D printer. Why you think it would cost hundreds of dollars is a mystery to me.
Alternate option: Make the standing disk out of sugru and reuse the cap.
Yes, they did. The report did not accurately reflect what I saw presented at the meeting. Dr. Olney demonstrated evidence that one of the safety studies was fraudulent. I’m staying away from MSG, “autolyzed yeast extract,” “hydrolyzed protein,” and all the other things it’s called.
I don’t have anything against Chinese people.
You’re welcome to try to eat what you want, but try not to misinform people.
You’re probably choosing to avoid added MSG, but it’s literally impossible for you to avoid naturally occurring MSG in your diet. Glutamic acid and MSG is in tomatoes, bread, cheese, etc.
It’s almost like saying you want to cut amino acids out of your diet.
Reminds me of the gentleman who ate a pound of sugar free gummy bears, got violently ill, and posted the whole fiasco on YT.
Ok.
I was going to nuke the whole MSG thing with the same prejudice we do to anti-vaxxers as this has been clearly and repeatedly disproven. But some racist tropes will never die, and, folks have posted a ton of useful information in this topic for anyone still not up-to-date with modern science and MSG.
So instead, I’ll just say: Enough. Let’s revel in the impending arrival of our 3d-printed mayo future, and stop going on about Glutamates. Deal? Deal.
It’s insufficiently over the top for my tastes. Mark can come use my machine shop if he ever wants to get serious about mayonnaise caps.
I think you mean under the top
ETA: Wait, I can deliver it better—
It’s not over the top, it’s under the top!
I felt like people weren’t paying enough attention to my mayonnoggoth print, or assumed it wasn’t real, so today I blew through the Japan Centre in Piccadilly and got some of this holy mayo to demonstrate it.
(sadly, the UK version comes in an unmarked bottle inside a secondary plastic bag that has the branding on it)
(also, this is more mayo than I’d normally eat at home in a year, so I’m going to have to eat a LOT of chips and tuna sandwiches. I hope it’s worth it)
That is the Japanese market version, or the original Japanese version. I’m not totally sure, but the thicker labeled bottles sans bag are the US market version with a different recipe. But if that’s what Mark has they changed the labeling.
Though its possible they gave up on that and started distributing the original stuff in a US labeled bottle as well. Not sure. Stuff is completely unavailable by me, and I’m little circumspect about ordering it online given the multiple versions running around.
But if its a bag with an un or minimally labelled weird bottle thing. Its the Japanese one.
