Mad Musk: Tesla CEO angrily headbutted car after safety sensor paused assembly line

Elon Musk - starring in the hot remake:

The Year of Living Stupidly

It seems to be a characteristic of at least some clever people to assume that anything they’re not familiar with is simple and that those with expertise in that area are complicating it unnecessarily.

The story does not cite the fired employee as the source. It refers to multiple sources in the 4th line of the article.

I suspect the people who work for him need and deserve that vacation more than him. I think a year, on his dime, would be appropriate.

By the way, you do know that Elon Musk is a pedo. I’ve been saying it for days and yet he does nothing to prove otherwise.

Exactly. I have some experience with equipment like machining centres and industrial robots, and I can say that safety systems are there for a reason.
Accidents when an industrial robot arm on assembly line killed someone are not uncommon.

I’m neither a fan boy of Musk nor a hater. If he can make the world better that’s great. If he acts like an ass then he deserves to be criticized. This idea that what he is working on is so important that he can’t be criticized is BS.

With that said. Here is a video shot recently of Musk giving MKBHD a tour of the factory. I’m not sure when this was filmed in relation to the video of the OP. Maybe this was after in an effort to clean up his image. Some have commented that it seems strange this young guy that was reviewing phones on YouTube is suddenly getting a personal tour from Musk. Even MKBHD commented he wasn’t sure why or how Musk knew of him and why he of all people was contacted (He is a big fan of Tesla cars). Musk seems aware of safety systems in this video as he stands in front of robot to show it will not run him over.

Make of it as you will.

Henry Ford may have been smart and did good to pay his employees well and make a needed product affordable for the masses but he was still a racist asshole of the highest order.

Yeah, probably best to voice those concerns to the egotistical lunatic headbutting cars and trying to get rid of safety procedures on the factory floor.

Well, the WSJ did write “head-butted” with a hyphen. But not all of us aspire to that level of class.

I’m not ordinarily a button pusher; but if I knew someone like that, I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from torturing them by using it, all the time.

The aversion is just silly to me.

Speaking as a former industrial automation engineer, headbutting a car to prove that it is moving too slowly to harm a human head seems eminently engineery.

If anyone else here has designed an automated production line, I would be interested to hear if they agree.
