MAGA Christian school head convicted of torturing children

The sickening justification – the kids chose tape for “under ten minutes” as opposed to being suspended for talking in class. So, it’s fine because they chose it and they were “never in any physical pain.” :rage:

This is the sad reality, and it just perpetuates itself. My old graduating class found me on Facebook through my sister (sigh), so for a while, I was seeing their group conversations. Corporal punishment came up, and most of my peers, who had all been subjected to this, thought that hitting kids in school or at home should be permissible. After all, they were hit when they were kids and they grew up “just fine.” My counterargument was that they did not grow up “fine” because they grew up to be people who thought hitting kids was O.K., but that point was mostly lost on them.

I read the first one, and think: That’s not great. Very stupid move on the school head’s part.
Then I keep reading…

What The Wtf GIF by Justin

Cruelty to children has been a badge of honor for these pukes for as long as I can remember. (yea, my elementary school principal had paddles on the wall. which he frequently threatened 2nd and 3rd graders with)

If it was my kid at least one person would be in prison.
It might be me.

Presumably there is nothing in state law to prevent a convicted child abuser from running for office, being elected, and serving his constituency from a prison cell.

These folks think violence is the proper solution to all problems.

We also grew up breathing lead from our tailpipes and absent seatbelts that turned kids into projectiles. There is a survivorship bias at work here. In the neighborhood where I grew up, almost every white kid except my family is either dead or in prison. Some for killing the dead ones. My siblings and I did quite well for ourselves, but I would not hold that up as proof that it was a great place to raise a family! You see this same argument over student debt and housing costs. “We did it, why shouldn’t you? You snowflakes!” And it makes me furious when I hear it.
