thanks for understanding.
i am really happy you like!
as it says, this is the first issue in a series of cards on the theme of the Flagler railroad through (mostly the upper) keys. keep an eye on your post box(es), y’all. i am ready with the next issues that will launch around the first of each month coming.
your tickets are all good for the trip. let’s see where it goes?

we got all the upper cabinets trimmed out to cover the edges of the plywood. took forever, especially since the Xs had all those angles but also because this project is stain-grade, which is why we needed all those tight tolerances I mentioned earlier: ordinarily something short 1/16" or even 1/8" depending, you can caulk the gap since it’ll be painted. stain grade, there’s no hiding a bad cut, it has to be tight against everything else

built the first set of lower cabinet skeletons today. blissfully easy and fast compared to the uppers .

we had to cut the drywall back to the nearest stud on either side of the new jamb when we hung the gate, so today we also filled that in and trimmed it out, too.

I love the color of the wall, it looks very nice with the color of the wood…and also the fancy ass wrought iron door!

OH! and I just noticed the brick floor! Cool!

Great work!

agree. wine color for the wine cellar, I guess. but it definitely works. the wood will look badass against it after it gets stained, too

What’s the stain like? Dark, light?

medium. the wood is all pine and he wants a cherry-wood stain. the light parts will get medium and the grain will get deep and contrast -y

Oh, that’ll be nice! Make sure you get some pics when it’s all stained!

more skeletons

the wine rack in the center he had already. when ours are finished, the wine bottles will sit at the same height that they sit in the rack all across the top. the laser level goes across the entire wall along the top edge of our cabinets but it didn’t photograph on the right side

The gift bags are finished.

My wife and daughter found a bunch of eclipse themed treats.

Sun Chips, Sun Maid rasins, Moon Pies, Cosmic Brownies, Star Crunches, Capri Sun, Starburst, Milky Way, Galaxy Blast Oreos with Pop Rocks in the filling, astronaut ice cream, and of course… Eclipse Gum.

Interesting article on my feed today

I have heard of Saw Stop and seen them in videos, might have to give some thought if the price drops a bit.

Just Little Debbie, sorry. We’re a boring family when it comes to special brownies.

i really can’t have the sugary stuff, so even special brownies are supposed to be off limits.

we finished on Saturday but bbs wouldn’t let me post again until someone else did.
the cabinet doors are on order from the millworks and we’ll put them in when they’re done. a crew will put in stone counter tops and everything will get stained and then it’ll really be done.

Me too!

I saw someone’s fancy-schmancy wine cellar yesterday, and the storage room was a pale reproduction of the above work.
