Is the skull and crossbones over the door commercially available?

Turns out this is a pretty convenient time of year to buy that sort of thing. I found a bag of plastic bones among the Halloween decorations at Home Depot for about eight bucks and just used the skull and femurs.

Cute, cute, cute! I want one, too! Well, one that I can use as a very small art studio, and maybe a bit taller?

But I still want the octopus.

Good practice for Monday.

I’m so glad TLAPD is on a weekday this year. I don’t usually interact with enough people on weekends to really get the full enjoyment of it.

And I think I’m out of rum…

A ukulele version of a delightfully NSFW Tenacious D song, transposed to the extremely appropriate key of F. I dunno if copyright/wrong sez I can post it or not?

Femo viking axe and shield boss fresh from the oven. Poor lighting - they’re more silvery/shiny in proper light. Still need to make the rest of the shield and give them some patina. Then I will have the hedgehog-related viking accessories I’ve always wanted.

Taking a break from working on this green guy (will be a dragon or dino), I made a small shopping bag made from plastic shopping bags.

For your shopping bag…find excuses to shop at ToysRUs. Pink, blue, purple and lime green bags, and they’re big. That is all.

@japhroaig, whaddya think? I’m pleased that Mike gave it a go, I can’t argue with the 2/3 tempo (different halls and instruments impose different constraints, and this sounds like he read his situation right), but I’m suspecting that the Cornet stop was maybe a bit much for balancing the 'cello. Pity. I like Cornet stops normally, but they do vary in volume.

Don’t know organ-speak, but I agree with what I think you’re saying: the organ is too dominant for the cello.

Also: why have the cello play directly into the stage wall? That couldn’t have helped.

Yeah, that is what I meant, Liz. I knew he was using the Cornet stop ahead of time, and didn’t demur, as I’ve called for that stop in other places, although I believe I called for a fairly light registration (selection of stops) here. My brain fart in not saying, ā€œUmm, maybe a bit overpowering?ā€

The balance is so off that it made me sad, because I wanted to be able to enjoy the piece rather than strain to pick out the melody…you know?

Thanks for the heads up!

I’ve not spoken with anyone else who makes bags from bags before, I’m happy to share! I was having the same issue of coming up with only white and beige bags for a while. The toy store changed their bags two or three years ago to these excellently bright colors, and well, I have a kid to shop for twice a year! I’ve a good stash built up right now, and I’ve been kinda itchy to cut them up lately. I feel like I need a couple more shopping bags. :smiley_cat:
