decades ago, one of my college classmates was arrested for assaulting a police horse–the “assault” involved a spilled paper cup full of water, or ice, or both.

Assault and batter is not a chargeable offense but this kid is going down.

I disagree. The video does show skateboard guy moving aggressively towards an out of frame officer before things got heated. He should have left when the Lieutenant cussed him out.
I’m guessing you are not a US resident. People have been arrested for Assault here just for spitting towards Police Officers as stated in a previous post.

My friends were at this protest. There was also a guy that pulled a gun on kids and the deputies did nothing, its in the paper today. We’re in a recall effort against Adam Fortney the current sheriff who invited white supremacists to Snohomish, WA to help protect against “antifa” that he made up.

It was a brown stick, with a tan donut, on a white string, threatening Caucasian cops.
He could have put their eyes out.
