Well, I’m northwest of Albany these days and haven’t really felt that “Deep South” vibe, but I can see where you’re coming from.

Well let’s see… When I encountered a gentleman open carrying a pistol while running on a trail by myself, I waited until I was right in front of him to announce myself, while preparing to tackle him and beat his head against the ground if he so much as flinched for his gun, and when he didn’t I circled back out away from him and called the cops anyway.
So in answer to the question, leave and call the cops.

He’s white, male, armed. I can’t check to see if he’s got a history of domestic abuse/violence against women, so I’ll let the police sort that out. They have the tools. At this point, those are the attributes of 90%+ of mass shooters, so the best option is to call 911.
