Man walks over sidewalk grate just before underground explosion

I’ve missed some accidents by a few minutes, though the worst one was in Vegas when i was heading for classes in college. A car must’ve been speeding because it seemingly hit the sidewalk and launched itself over some gravel landscaping, the sidewalk, more gravel landscaping and through a large granite + concrete wall by a casino (not located downtown at the strip). They had tarps up covering the area so pretty sure the driver didn’t make it but i’m still puzzled as to how that car was able to fly over such a distance on a flat road as there were no tire marks or disturbed gravel.

Drunk drivers generally do have a finite number of strikes. Some people, it seems, get to slide on that. I don’t know much about this particular person, except that she apparently also drove through a convenience store in one of those “Was parked, drunkenly thought they put the car in reverse, and instead plowed forward through the store window” situations.

Unless you meant I should have a finite number of strikes based on how often I’m in proximity to this kind of thing. I could definitely get behind that too. Way too much crazy stuff in my path, I’d just as soon have someone else drive me around. My neighbor’s a limo driver, maybe we can work something out.

The local power company is called “Toronto Hydro.”

Most hydroelectricity providers in Ontario have similar names.

Here’s a good explainer (ironically, from one of the Ontario power companies that doesn’t have the word “hydro” in its name):
