while i know foreign aid isn’t perfect – especially if it’s unregulated or funneled straight into security and police services – it can also do a lot of good if it’s targeted well. enabling people to have safe and secure lives right where they are, rather than trying desperately to escape in the slim hope of a better life.

Well, to be fair, that same book, Leviticus, also permits you to make slaves of the strangers living among you.
