In that vein: the group involved in the recent kidnapping incident went so far as to throw some minions under the bus and hand them over to law enforcement along with the claim that they’d acted without authorization and contrary to procedure; presumably because there was no remaining upside to the crime and having all the heat that the State Department and others could squeeze out of their Mexican counterparts was presumably bad for business.
