As I understand it, many vegans take issue with consuming animal products (e.g. milk, eggs) not simply because they come from animals, but because they’re taken from animals without the animals’ consent.
I seriously hope she got permission to take this semen.

Right. I think semen is considered vegan for the same reason breastmilk is, it’s (presumably) given with consent.
