But the MAGA nuts are also pretty bad at effectively using the machinery of government to enact their policy goals. They only know how to break things, they need elder statesmen like McConnell as allies if they actually want to get legislation through.

As far as I can see it says the Governor “shall” name the replacement within 21 days of receiving the list of 3 names. It doesn’t seem to spell out exactly what happens if the Governor does nothing.
