Mitch doesn’t care. Mitch doesn’t work for Cult Trump, he works for the Corporate Wing of the GOP. His job is to keep corporate and 1%er taxes low, new climate and environmental regulations from happening, pro-big-business judges appointed and liberal ones not appointed, and prevent any impeachments from happening because it’s hard to get their agenda done without owning the Presidency. Either he gets re-elected this fall or he doesn’t (and even if he does, he may not have a majority, so he’ll have to go back to the Obama-first-term filibuster techniques.)
He’s horrible, but he’s not stupid, and he’d rather not ride the ship down with Trump.

Oh, the Yuge Trumptastic ship is definitely going down. Question is whether Mitch can get himself a seat on a lifeboat before it does, and there are probably some women and children he can kick off to do it.
