Mitch, retire for your own good (and ours)
No! The (D) is for (D)ied, but I’m still voting for him! Just need to get that spread on tooth social or something. Maybe a facebook meme? That’s what the retired voter block uses, right?
Telegram… not the social media site.
Try smacking him up against the head a few times. Percussive maintenance seems the perfect solution here. Hell, even if it isn’t, I’m perfectly willing to give it a try.
I’m not saying misogyny because I don’t wanna piss off the misogynists but…
Beau brings up a good point about why we might not be in a rush to kick Mitch to the curb, even though we hate him.
Call me a replicant, but I say we leave the turtle on it’s back to die.
Holden : The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can’t. Not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that?
alcorrupt: Because that turtle is a prick. Seriously, don’t touch it!
To be fair, talking has never been Mitch’s strong suit. He’s more the brooding, plotting, cackling type.
This was my first thought, as well. I have a friend who discovered (many years ago) he was epileptic after this type of event. He was sitting at a computer terminal working on some code, and suddenly realised that he had “lost” five minutes of time. It bothered him, so he went to his doctor; after some tests, he was diagnosed with a mild form of epilepsy and prescribed meds. Hasn’t had a seizure since then.
He was profoundly grateful that it had happened while he was in a relatively safe situation (seated, with hands on the table) rather than, say, driving to/from work.
Just dropping this reminder here, in case someone wants to follow up with Sen. Toomey about his thoughts on fitness for office:
“It’s just not possible to be an effective senator if you cannot communicate,” retiring Republican Sen. Pat Toomey, whose seat Fetterman hopes to fill, said Tuesday at a press conference with Dr. Mehmet Oz, the GOP nominee and Fetterman’s opponent.
Rick Santorum, a former Republican senator from Pennsylvania, was even more blunt in his criticism last week on Newsmax: “John Fetterman is simply not capable of doing this job. He’s hiding in his basement, he’s not able to talk, he’s not able to process.”
and the rest of it:
I mean… you might think so, but that didn’t happen. They had him back in front of that podium inside of ten minutes, completing the press conference and insisting he was “fine.” Sure doesn’t seem like anybody actually gives a shit about his health.
It’s worth noting that the senator standing immediately to McConnell’s right is also a physician that got his MD from Georgetown FFS.
The very fact that neither he nor anybody else showed any particular concern seems to indicate this is not an unusual occurrence.
It’s a bit like it is in pro sports, when they put an injured player back in instead of taking them to a hospital.
