I don’t get the idea going around that the GOP establishment is horrified with Trump and how things are going… given that most all of them have given a pass to everything Trump has done so far, I’d say the GOP establishment thinks things are going swimmingly. There may be a few detractors, but for the most part they’re all falling in line, at least from what I can see.

Agreed. I do think that far more democrats would be willing to go against Trump that would vote for something like this. That’s my HOPE at least.

it was in much of the coverage about the dossier before steel was revealed. It was done as opposition research and much of it was preliminary. IIRC the security group that Steele produced it for did so with provisos.
That’s why everyone has been working to find confirmation of something in it since *before the election.
If I had to guess Moby has tapped into the same DC rumor mill that’s been grinding over this thing since it cropped up months ago (before it was publicly reported). Very few people would be in a place to know these things he’s claiming. The handful of people investigating it for whichever intelligence bodies have opted to do so. The people running those orgs. And, well, people pretty deep in Trumps camp. The other stuff is rather typical conspiracy theory about any new administration.
We will see a lot more from Booker and Warren. With Warren, it’s at least some part principles and character, but still a good part optics. With Booker, all optics. I don’t even care if it is optics, as long as it inspires resistance.

While it’s nicely ironic. You don’t exactly combat a president who decries all criticism as fake news. And came to power based on screaming conspiracy and out and out falsehoods. Amid an unprecedented foreign propaganda campaign which used partisan news sites and social media to spread as much falsehood as possible. By uncritically promoting poorly sourced material that looks suspiciously like the same thing.

It’s pretty clear Russia was involved in getting Trump elected, but it may not be that Trump is a puppet, they may have just wanted someone incompetent in the White House, or someone to sow chaos and confusion in the government. They probably don’t need to use the dossier, or they may keep it handy just in case, but once it’s released it loses its value.
