Moby says he has secret intelligence info on Trump

Don’t have to to worry about that with Trump, he can barely handle a tweet!

There’s a different between being a sniveling suck-up and agreeing. I think most of the GOP are of the first kind and not the second. The only thing they agree with is that going against Trump would lose them their base. They could easily just be waiting for an opening to get the knives out.

I’d guess there are a large number who basically have no opinion at all except, “I’d like to keep my job,” and they will act in whatever way they think furthers that, whether it’s for Trump or against Trump.

Perfect!

Moby isn’t going to impress me until he backs up those claims with some game theory.

I wish I didn’t agree that this is probably true with many administrations…and most certainly with current infestation of money and power maggots. I only hope like real maggots they eat down to a core of something vital and we can regain a healthy government.

This just in: Fatboy Slim reveals the truth about 9/11.

We have a television clown in the white house, again, so… maybe?

Indeed, one problem with that many authoritarians and toadies in one place is all the bootlickers and other followers falling all over each other to impress them all to stay ‘safe’. I don’t mean the career employees at all.

I heard the White House described as Peyton Place on my local NPR today.

1-the russian dossier on trump is real. 100% real. he’s being blackmailed by the russian government, not just for being peed on by russian hookers, but for much more nefarious things.

But her emails!

2-the trump administration is in collusion with the russian government, and has been since day one.

But her emails!

3-the trump administration needs a war, most likely with iran. at present they are putting u.s warships off the coast of iran in the hope that iran will attack one of the ships and give the u.s a pretense for invasion.

But her emails!

4-there are right wing plans to get rid of trump. he’s a drain on their fundraising and their approval ratings, and the gop and koch brothers and other u.s right wing groups are planning to get rid of trump.

But her emails!

5-intelligence agencies around the world, and here in the u.s, are horrified by the incompetence of the trump administration, and are working to present information that will lead to high level firings and, ultimately, impeachment.

BUT HER EMAILS!

Personally, i’m waiting for dizzee rascal to weigh in on this before i decide.

Take care of yourself - this is a marathon, not a sprint, and when you get exhausted there’s a risk of just accepting the horrors as normal. Don’t get used to it, but feel free to may be go at a low jog for a while rather than an all-out dash.

And remember, Moby is best listened to prior to to 1999.

Hmm. Things actually start to get a little interesting and untested if the President and Vice President are both removed from office at the same time. The Speaker of the House (Paul Ryan) would become President,* and then presumably would be able to appoint his own Vice President. The Cabinet serves at the pleasure of the President so the cabinet could be dismissed by the incoming President and replaced, or not.

*there is, apparently, an open question as to whether Ryan would be the President or the Acting President, and what, if any, difference there might be between those two things.

Wait, this is starting to sound familiar, I’m remembering something important, something about Iraq…

Okay, scratch Schadenfreude, it doesn’t matter if you enjoy it or not, lets take “turnabout” or “He who lives by…” or “his own petard”. The central point of my argument was that we should hold ourselves to a higher standard. Just because Trump does it, shouldn’t be legitimation to do likewise. If I don’t like loose play with facts I still don’t like it even with Trump on the receiving end.

I hear you. I still disagree. I think you still avoid the ‘mortal sins’ more or less, but throwing shade and using a little hyperbole to draw attention are in noway shape or form equivalent to the outright gaslighting they’re doing.

Pushing back by using their words is not the same as pushing back by behaving the same way. To compare this sort of thing from Moby to the sort of crap the administration (and in fact many dodgy people everywhere) does, Moby would have to be up to something else entirely and just trying to distract us with this. Moby seems to earnestly believe something, and that something may not be totally factual.

But Moby can’t deploy the Marines.

So I don’t see the equivalence as true.

I believe the chain of succession is such that whomever takes over is the “acting president” for the rest of the term or until a new president is elected. But there’s a whole bunch of fiddly rules about the successor handling their own previous job in parallel with that to avoid a power-hungry house or senate leader gaining the upper hand simply by offing the president and vice president. The summary version is they can only wear one hat at a time and their powers are somewhat restricted in either case.
