Very on-brand for MAGA. To them, being accused of racism is a crime much worse than their racism itself. The harm they perceive from being called racist far exceeds any persecution or oppression actually done by racists.

She’s showing solidarity with all of her voters that get called out for being racist :person_shrugging:

“No,” Dyson replied, “You don’t have to intend racism to accomplish it.”

It’s a very succinct way of explaining systemic/institutional/cultural racism, as you would to a child.

Here’s the video, for anyone who wants to watch it. She continued mispronouncing Kamala Harris’s name after being corrected multiple times. She clearly knows how to say her name, she’s just refusing to, and it’s incredibly disrespectful, and she should have been called out for it, and was. And not just by Dyson, but by one of the other panelists as well.

ETA: The big tell that she knows how to say her name is that she said it correctly once, and then immediately remembered that she’s supposed to be saying it wrong and “corrected” herself. And they called her out for that, too.

Although in this case she is definitely intending the racism.

They are all bullies. And they have no shame whatsoever.

And I think a backlash might be coming since they have gone all-out racist recently! People are exhausted by the non-stop hate.

Exactly, it’s part of their playbook. She looks absolutely gleeful at the opportunity to play the victim. Say something racist, get called out, condemn the person calling out, rinse, repeat.

Yeah. I keep saying that in the (white, mainstream) culture, by the end of the 20th century, being a “racist” was generally acknowledged to be bad. Except that “racism” was never really defined all that well, so (some) racist behavior was accepted while simultaneously the label “racist” was stigmatized. So it became easy for racists to deny being racist while being outraged at being called racist. Being called racist became a nasty insult, at which point the person issuing the insult was in the wrong, not the person perpetrating racism…

Our next Guest is … Nana E-Mase. Welcome to the show Nana.
“that’s not how you pronounce my name”
So how many grandchildren do you have Nana?
“I don’t have any grandchildren”
Why not? Have you talked with your children about this?

Some racist politician (or aspiring politician. Long story, not worth it) went viral for heckling a socialist TD (congress critter) “do you call me racist?” And repeating it. He replied “I call you a gobshite”. Which took the wind out of his bullshit.

But yes, he was and is a disgusting racist. And a gobshite. It’s nice that everyone knows he can universally be called a gobshite.

This person is also a gobshite.
