I was on a bus in SF when a tiny hailstorm suddenly hit. It was over in 10 seconds.

I can’t even express the looks of wonder and delight of everyone on board. It was like a unicorn just ran by.

Bay Area folks aren’t accustomed to weather in the same way, say, Chicagoans are.

The first time I can remember it hailing, it was the size of golf balls. Quite the scary time! I was stressed that it broke a window in our garage and knowing we didn’t have a lot of money for it.

“hail the size of seven ladybugs.”

“hail about 0.0025 schoolbuses wide.”

I was in the Soquel Valley once and there was a light, drizzly mist coming over the mountain ridge. The owner of the distillery there said that he had never seen precipitation like it before. It was like any old Tuesday in NY.
