NH Republican lawmakers harass female state rep who objected to sexist law

Just a few Amazon tribes. But not flopping. Bound up.

I can see why George Lucas ended up making a few tweaks to the Ewok costume design after those early screen tests.

Are you implying that isn’t a more elegant look for a more civilized age?

Condescension is ever so charming.

That presumes they know Africa is a continent and not a country. This is far from a safe assumption.

The only countries I can think of where having your willie flopping around in public is socially acceptable are all in Europe.

I’m going to freak you out here - minds don’t have brains in them, that’s heads. If you could show a brain falling out of a mind that would be a major game changer ontology-wise.

The fact that you have to sign up for the draft shows women are different (laws written by old white guys decades ago requiring men but not women to register for the draft is a very clear example of something) so obviously it’s cool for men to go blaming women for the dangerous lady sexy parts controlling men’s actions and forcing them to grope ladies, which explains why forcing women to cover up those dangerous lady bits is all about liberty.

So Democrats are more ass men?

I guess that makes sense.

I hope not. That doesn’t really make any more sense than being teat men.

I had read a theory awhile back that it started with the trend of people having fewer kids and bigger homes. It meant same-sex siblings got their own rooms, and therefore got more privacy. If you’re not used to changing in front of your brother, changing in front of a friend – forget about much more than that – would be tough.

Not sure if there’s a correlation but I think being comfortable with casual, incidental same-sex nudity means one is more likely to think “there’s nothing special about my genitals” and that might lead to a more relaxed attitude to all genitals. That is, it’s just our bodies relax.

It’s not “political correctness” when it’s Republican politics.

It is far from equal, as you attest, but your little list shows a profound ignorance of women. Let me mansplain this to you. Here is a sampler.

  1. From a young age, a woman confronts her biology face to face and it is bloody, painful, full of emotions and it persists nearly her whole life. Boys just one day get a hard-on and then the hormones flow and then they want to use it all the time. That’s it. And maybe occasionally dirty underwear.

  2. A woman had you inside her body for 9 months and then she dealt with your incessant crying for YEARS. Dad might have held you for a while, but then he went back to the office, or reading the newspaper or whatever your dad did. I’m a good dad, involved with my kids. But my wife does WAYYYYYY more than I’ll ever do, and that’s not odd sexist division of labor; that’s the reality of raising little humans, since I don’t have breasts to suckle them when they cry. Yes, I can do more. I also stand there going, well hell, I’m useless here. Women do WAY more for the raising of little ones. We can deconstruct this all you want, but the reality is that women do more than men and probably always will.

  3. Women face reduced wages, sexism, harassment, getting passed over for promotions and all kinds of unfair practices in the job market. Women’s careers are better than ever, in general, but those prejudices are still here, like a boot on their neck. It all revolves around men’s perceptions of productivity and valuing a woman’s contribution less, because of all the shit she’s doing to satisfy item 2, above.

Sure, women aren’t equal. They haven’t been given a collective chance to be. But to attribute it to some inherent lack… well that’s the same kind of thinking that blames poor people for being poor, disabled for being disabled, sick for being sick. It’s an ignorant, ignorant line of reasoning.

I’m not going to believe this without some evidence in the form of a study or whatnot. Because, let’s be clear, cis people might ‘relax’ more seeing cis people naked, but I have a strong intuition that greater availability to privacy makes life a lot more calm and relaxing for trans people. I wouldn’t join a gym with open showers, for fear of violence. I suspect that people with all kinds of unusual body configuration also appreciate access to privacy.

No. Words like sexist are used to belittle people with different behavior based on gender.

The ‘ideas’ or ‘points of view’ that inspire the behavior are really meta- to the policy point at hand. This is not thought control, this is body control.

Falsely conflating the two is going to infuriate a lot of folks, yourself included.
