Yes, I absolutely believe he and his cohort are fascists and frequently straight-up Nazis. I just think he’s also doing what he does for attention, partly for his own ego, partly as a recruitment tool.
It’s also seriously worrying that nothing will likely ever be done about him. A lot of the authorities still believe if you ignore Nazis, they’ll just disappear. (And of course, another large number of the authorities agree with him, so they’d never arrest or inconvenience him…)
I doubt very much that this is what authorities on Nazis think.
But him angling for “attention” isn’t the real problem… people who work in various media (social or otherwise) or in the culture industries, by definition, are seeking out “attention” because that’s how they make a living. THAT is not the problematic part, in and of itself.
What he’s DOING with that attention IS the problem. 
The nazi part is the problem! If he were using the attention economy to bring greater understanding to social problems, or to just be genuinely funny and entertaining, that would not be a problem. The nazi part is the problem.

or we could say: it’s not acceptable to praise hitler – nor to fantasize about torturing people – regardless of context. 
So… which of those is it? Because they’re not all the same. (Also, who is he supposed to be parodying?) This is clearly a “denial” which is itself not meant to be taken seriously. The “joke” is that maybe he wouldn’t actually do these things, but he’s fine with someone else doing them.
That would at least be a mild form of calling out their fascist bullshit, instead of just letting it slide by uncontested.
