Kim Jong Un had his eldest half-brother Kim Jong Nam murdered in 2017.
He has an older full brother, Kim Jong Chol. Their father Kim Jong Il reputedly thought that Jong Chol was too soft to rule the country.

In a very quiet and seldom reported news piece , I think from WaPo (read this recently, forgive me for not knowing), it turns out that the CIA did the rare thing of claiming Kim Jong-nam was a CIA asset.
So, not condoning his assassination, but it makes a lot of sense why he was murdered knowing that instead of the usual “He was the fat guy who got stopped from going to Tokyo Disneyland and brought great shame on Un”
That’s mentioned in the Wikipedia article.
Granted, I wouldn’t put it past the CIA to make that kind of thing up as a way of sowing distrust and discord within the Kim regime.
