Thing is, all the Dana Loesch videos I’ve seen are not even about guns, they’re about the evils of liberals/progressives/antifa/etc.

I would love for someone to ask her point-blank “is it OK for socialists to own guns also?”

There’s an unsurprising amount of overlap between #1 and #3. Christian conservatives - mainly the evangelicals these days - often harbor racist views that they claim aren’t racist. “Them illegals are the problem and steal our jobs! Muslims are all terrorists! But I’m not racist because I work with black folk and don’t mind them at all, except mind you they do commit crimes at much higher rates than whites do, but that’s just statistics, it’s not racism.”

Group #2 simply uses the GOP and the fact that groups #1 and #3 (who overlap a lot remember) are reliable GOP voters to get their anti-tax agenda passed. They don’t give a rat’s ass for either of the things groups #1 and #3 do, but because it’s a solid, reliable voting base, they buy up politicians knowing that those folks will vote for whatever crazy shit the GOP peddles as long as they continue to be anti-abortion and pro-jail-all-the-brown-people.

Thus the three legged tripod of the GOP. A minority with majority control of our government because all that juicy anti-tax millionaire money allows them to twist laws to gerrymander districts and disenfranchise voters who might vote for someone else.

EDIT: many grammar/spelling errors, much regret, have fixed

That sounds weirdly creepy and predatory to me. Maybe I should watch less day-time-soaps.

Agreed with @cepheus42, but the tripod is really wonky.

And folks who aren’t white also.

Oh no! Where will horrible media-connected racists find new jobs these days? Thoughts and prayers.

(muttered) “Mark my words, he will be mine…”

Yeah, it’s hard to take much pleasure in this specific event, since Loesch will undoubtedly find some other conservative to give her a job hawking bullshit to scared Faux News viewers in short order. But still, fuck the NRA.

Dana Loesch was a huge turn off for me, because she kitchen-sinked gun rights into the whole left vs right culture war. It added unnecessary baggage and alienates too many people. Furthermore, it clouds and distorts the core mission of the defense of rights into a bunch of other non-related issues.

Here is a Black Socialist talking about gun rights (full interview, not the cherry picked sound bites.)

Let me note in passing CA residents could carry guns in public until the Black Panthers showed up outside the State Capitol heavily armed.

Thank you for the diagram! Pretty much accurate, and far superior to my long winded description.

Yeah… “funny” how the laws changed, right after that incident happened.

Ha, thanks…but I see the diagram as more of an addendum than substitution

Come to think of it, I’ve never seen any of them together, either.

This is an excellent podcast episode about the start of the NRA’s descent into madness, spurred mainly by racist fears.

She does a pretty accurate Meghan McCain impression!

I didn’t realize Loesch was a black socialist. Or a guy.

Or, for that matter, an exception to the right-wing extremists who’ve set the NRA’s agenda since the organisation’s internal coup of 1977 (see my comment above).

I’d not previously appreciated this angle on the story. I don’t suppose it’s possible that PETA’s raving insanity can likewise be attributed to a subtle takeover by a malicious outside force?
