I got that. I think he’s being naive. It’s one thing to be pro-2nd amendment, it’s another to associate with the NRA.
I’m not trying to argue with you, I can drop this now, I just don’t see the value in the NRA providing Killer Mike a platform if they then edit it for other purposes. It sure looks like tokenism to me.
And I agree with you that the NRA did a disservice to gun owners when it became more associated with tangential issues and this idea of “the culture war.” They may have actually damaged support for the 2nd amendment by promoting paranoia, and I think it was mostly about money, not rights.
My original comment was about Loesch, not necessarily the NRA, but I’m not so sure what she believes is different than what the rest of the NRA leadership believes.
It doesn’t hold up at all, except they have both publicly disbelieved the Lone Gunman theory of JFK and in photos they look a little alike around the eyes. Hicks was basically a New Age hippie who dressed like a … well, like a comedian. Alex Jones hates those people.
The explanation that always stuck with me, is that the Mafia did it. Vaughn Meader was hugely successful with his JFK impressions, so much so that it was drawing audiences away from the Vegas casinos and affecting their bottom line.
