NY appeals court gives Trump 10 days to post $175 million

Mar a Lardo is in Florida, out of the reach of the state of New York. It’s not currently embroiled in this fraud case.

I get that but if his property, by his own admission, is assessed wrong and Florida is not getting the same property taxes as other properties then it should be re assessed by the county in Florida.

I know when I was over assessed a tax tribunal is a royal pain and most appeals fail. Mine did.

Florida residents should either be appealing their assessments to get the same discount or be up in arms about his discount.

Kevin O’Leary is a Canadian wannabe Trump. He’s another failed businessman who conned his way into representing himself on a reality tv show as a successful one. So you could have just stopped after “babbling”. That’s all he ever does.

ETA: This asshole is another example of how the media are complicit in all of this. This jackass gets interviewed on CNBC and Fox and a bunch of other media outlets on all kinds of business and economic stories, and he’s a fucking con artist who sank at least two companies before getting a gig on Shark Tank. He’s not a good businessman. He sucks at it. But the media just takes him in good faith and talks to him as if they’re talking to someone who has one goddam fucking clue what he’s talking about.

2-1 odds he doesn’t come up with the money.

Why is this the problem of the People of the State of New York, whom he defrauded? It shouldn’t be, yet it now is.

Given that the whole trial was predicated on him lying about the value of his properties, who knows what they are really worth?

The judgment against him was for some $450m, which he has to pay (plus interest) for a total of some $550m as bond while his appeals work their way through. If the judgment was overturned on appeal, he’d get the money back. If not, he loses the money plus the interest. If he couldn’t pay, the State can start collecting by siezing bank accounts and property to cover the bond. Siezing his property would be catastrophic for him because even if the judgment against him was overturned on appeal, he wouldn’t be able to get his property back because it’s already been sold.

Anyway, he’s still on the hook for the full $450m assuming it doesn’t get overturned on appeal (which is highly unlikely to happen), but the bond he has to pay has been reduced to $175m which he has been given a 10 day extension to pay.

Where are the Republicans complaining about “TwO jUsTiCe SyStEmS”? If it were anybody else, they would never get this kind of deferential treatment. It’s disgusting.

I suppose the only comfort is, if he’s not faking the dementia symptoms (and he’s not that good an actor) he won’t be able to recognize his wife come October, or know where he is, or maybe be at all verbal.

Justice denied is never fun. Where the hell did this come from?

Not really no.
