A number of medical insurance providers have advised clients that their coverage will end 10 days after Ottawa issued the advisory warning against all non-essential travel outside of Canada.
That means many medical insurance plans will stop covering treatment and procedures for snowbirds on Monday, March 23.
And if you could isolate for a while when you get back, that’d be great too.

I wonder how long it will be before the for-profit insurers start denying COVID-19 treatment claims from Americans after a certain date (assuming they haven’t done so already).
At least Canadians going back will be returning to an OECD country with high-quality health care, single-payer universal, and what seems to be a government that respects the advice of medical experts.
Since a lot of these snowbirds are elderly, it’s in their own self interest to do so.

Another thing you might want to be doing: keep a logbook. In particular, any trips outside, where you went, “how am I feeling?”, temperature readings, recent crowd situations, etc. Try to think back a couple of weeks - queues, social events, gatherings of any sort, meetups with friends, etc.
I’ve just reached my first two-week “milestone” - a queue I was in on March 3. Meanwhile, my temperature is remaining in the high 97’s (F), which is good.
