I have noticed that in some rural communities the local beer dist provides employment to many people. Basically a big working warehouse in the middle of nowhere.

But, that doesn’t make it “life-sustaining”. It’s not like the local gas stations and mini marts have stopped selling beer… until…

They call people’s landlines during the day, and only people who aren’t busy answer. So, they’re polling lonely old people. That’s 90% Fox News viewers.

They’re probably calling me, because I think my phone is still considered to be a landline (it’s been many years now), but since it’s actually Google Voice, they’re either routed to spam immediately, or at least are cut off before they can try to leave a message. I’m definitely still getting these types of calls during the day (I can tell when I check the logs), so my guess is I could take one for the team if I answered and gave them a functional adult’s opinion for a change.
