The willful stupid, it burns…
I’m kinda toying with the idea of something along the lines of Max Liebermann’s “Ick kann janich so viel fressen, wie ick kotzen möchte!”, but so far a viable concept eludes me.
While I have read all 4565 posts in this thread, I don’t recall this being mentioned.
When coronavirus really hits the midwest, urban hospitals will be overrun with rural folks whose community hospitals have all closed because states did not expand medicaid when they had the chance (I’m looking at you MO).
At best, a lesson learned too late. More realistically, a lesson not learned.
At the driving range, while Frost and his like-minded friends slathered on hand sanitizer and kept six feet apart, the white-haired Republicans seemed to delight in breaking the new rules. They made a show of shaking hands, and complained loudly about the “stupid hoax” being propagated by virus alarmists. When their tee times were up, they piled defiantly into golf carts, shoulder to shoulder, and sped off toward the first hole.
If they were in their 20s, I can see them rolling coal on people in hybrids and electric cars just to trigger them. I don’t know why some people take such joy in breaking the rules just because they can.
I’m so tired of all this shit.
My pet theory (no one asked I know) is fear. If they can convince themselves they have power over what scares them they think they’re winning at something. They see themselves as exercising power and control. In reality they’re just dumb scared animals acting like useless fools.
The PB 560 ventilator has a number of advantages, one being that it’s a relatively compact and lightweight piece of equipment that can be easily moved around and installed for use in a range of different healthcare environments and settings. And it’s a design that was originally introduced in 2010, so it has a decade of qualified, safe medical use in treating patients.
This is in response to 69 detected cases (all recent overseas arrivals or close associates) and two deaths.
The Johns Hopkins map says 2,978 people in the US have died of Covid-19. The September 11, 2001 attacks killed 2,977.
Sorry… yes I’m going to hell. And I’ve got family in Jersey too. Still.
What the fuck?
If they’re going to do that, I can’t stop them, but, if they actually had the courage of their convictions, as opposed to just being vicious shitheads, they would set up a DNR that says that they don’t want a ventilator if someone else needs one.
The unfortunate thing is that isn’t going to help anyone they infect.
I’m certainly willing to give it a try - in addition to my doctor’s recommendations.
Though they need to substitute scotch.
I’ll bring the craft beer, for the sake of a controlled study.
Oh. This guy?
Seems like an appropriate gift for Vlad.
If vodka and saunas were a cure for the virus, then there would be zero cases in Finland.
