I absolutely agree with you. But I think it does matter how the federal government is behaving.
It matters 'cos understanding that piece of the puzzle is to understand why they are behaving so oddly. It’s probably either incompetence or corruption (or both) but wouldn’t you like to know?
And it matters 'cos (hopefully) at some point there will be some kind of official inquiry and people will be held accountable.
(And just for clarity - They’re not my tax dollars. I live in Europe)

It should kill the virus, but the acetone in the red spirits is a problem. Do your hardware shops have isopropanol-based cleaners? Here those are blue-tinted instead of red, and 90% isopropyl alcohol (and pretty much nothing else).

Don’t know about cleaner but there seems to be some IPA still on shelves. Most places say they don’t know when they can restock it.

More testing? Different areas here were more efficient at rolling out testing and looked like they were spiking in numbers of infections but then flattened off and were actually lower than the surrounding counties.

I would very much like this pill to work for all case and save lives.
But I admit that the drug fanboy concept is something new for me. In my country the expression “You are rooting for the virus” was used to attack those who show some skepticism about a supposed silver bullet.

So how long would it take theoretically to re-arrange one’s financial holdings in such a way that, were the expertly-researched classified facts of an impending global hot catastrophe to become known publicly, one [and one’s inner circle of co-conspirators] would unavoidably benefit financially, beyond one’s wildest kleptocratic grifty dreams? How long…?

ETA: having the entire taxpayer-funded research arm of, oh, the CIA, DHS, CDC, NIH, and all the other agencies that contribute to debriefs has simply got to be one of the best generators for insider trade-y stock tips ever.
