Lest we forget, South Korea has drive-thru testing locations. Drive-thru! Pull in, get tested, drive out. And they’re testing 20,000 people a day. That’s close to triple the amount the US has tested in a month.
People here are dying, all to protect corporate profits.
A week ago he was finally asked point-blank about his decision to gut the CDC’s pandemic response team. His answer began “I just think this is something […] that you can never really think is going to happen…” then he went on and on about how great he’s been at responding to a crisis no one could have possibly foreseen.
Of COURSE people foresaw this kind of crisis—that’s the reason there was a pandemic response team in the first place.
I plotted the U.K. government Coronavirus data and the total number of intensive care beds given in a newspaper article (in the Independent) - it looks like we’ll hit a crisis in about two weeks if things continue on the current trajectory

debbie harry’s ( blondie ) lips come out of the television. people get sucked into televisions. it’s a trippy ( and sometimes disturbing ) movie.
joking in these times is an iffy thing. i like trying to have a light mood when there are circumstances i can’t control. i know it runs some people the wrong way sometimes. hopefully not crossing any lines here.
