I’m starting to think that tRump is hazing people publicly as a loyalty test and that is what the GQP is voting for. It’s more about conformity and loyalty to the far-right party than having a backbone and representing all voters.

It’s really important to remember that the GQP is a minority party. With a few exceptions (like Wyoming), even in places you think of as Republican strongholds like Mississipi or Alabama, they are a minority party. If even 70% of eligible voters vote freely, even there, they lose.
Ultimately, it doesn’t matter how their base writhes to forget or forgive how bad their candidates are. What matters is voting rights and voter turnout.

The 30% of the country that loves Trump doesn’t care and another 15% would vote for Hitler if he was the Republican candidate. That leaves 5% of the voter who can be swayed.
