PA GOP angry at own Senator: "we did not send him there to ‘do the right thing’ or whatever"

And THAT is a keeper.

GOP has a big problem, because it’s clear that Trump isn’t an accident happened on conservatives, but instead is a result that party member wanted, at least a big percentage of it.
Basically the want a chief, or a duce or a Führer and all the rest doesn’t count.

The crazy (and lazy) part to me was that they didn’t even bother to copy edit it, so there was stuff in there about how they were rejecting the actions of the previous 4 years, which by then was when T was in office. It was just the laziest bit of grandstanding I’ve seen.

These party loyalist would make Stalin and Mao envious with their devotion. The Democrats best realize that they can’t really play by the rules anymore if they want to win. Don’t expect them to police their own or help remove them from office. They won’t. A Republican could literally eat a baby on live TV and they would come up with excuses.

Vote them out. It is the only way.

Well, not the only way.

Sigh

Dems need to stop fucking around the NPR crowd and start playing for keeps.

It sure is convenient that the GOP is saying all the quiet parts loud now.

“we did not send him there to ‘do the right thing’ or whatever”

I’ll generously take this as a moment of refreshing honesty from a GOP representative. It’s been a long time since Republicans were elected to do anything other than sabotage the workings of government to the benefit of the ultra-wealthy (individuals and corporations, my friends).

Normally the party platform is pretty irrelevant. It’s not like any president is bound by it after they are elected. But Trump is so wildly inconsistent, that he couldn’t be relied upon to not directly contradict the platform between the convention and the election. I really do think that we are looking at a period of fundamental realignment of the political parties. I’m not sure that the GOP will disappear like the Whigs, but strap in everybody, it is going to be a bumpy ride.

We should be happy that Trump lost, but don’t view the election as the end of the Donnie Party because he got significantly more votes in 2020 than in 2016.

To be fair, some of the people voting for them did so because they were going to stop wimmim from having bodily autonomy, and teh gays from having equal rights… And make sure “undeserving” people did not get access to social benefits…

You can add the Gadsden flag and the Blue Lives Matter flags to that meme.

Initially read “Donner Party.” Which is actually pretty apt, as they are currently eating themselves up.

What astonishes me to no end is how their voters simply do not care.

Trump wasn’t the problem, just the most obvious symptom.

The fight isn’t over and must be fought on multiple fronts.

I don’t know about anybody else but I’m still NOT giving up, despite having more to lose than some folks.

“…Stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit, it’s when things get tough that YOU MUST NOT QUIT.”
