Projection intensifies.
His mouth should be treated similar to how they deal with pothole.
PBS, why even bothers with the warning when still bending down to become von Clownstick’s loudspeaker? /S
This guy belongs to street corner like some bozos preaching about religions, not national airwave.
“I’m cockroach”
I think it’s safe to say that anyone triggered to do violence by what Trump was saying and what is happening with him probably isn’t tuning into PBS.
I don’t think that’s who the warning is for though… it’s more for the people who claim to be “centrist” who don’t believe in a connection between language and violence, and want to “both sides” everything… I’m sure some of them do watch PBS…
Ugh, why even air it, PBS? Stop giving him a platform due to some outdated notion of “it’s news and people have a right to see it” or whatever you said in your boardrooms to justify this decision.
yeah and when mum and i need closed captioning to watch the “news” - or teevee at all - the captions generally cover those pesky chyrons and our understanding of the story is unchanged.
“Ugh, it’s Melania’s husband again, turn off the tv!”
I guess it’s “newsworthy” enough to cover (we need to know what Trump and the MAGA crowd are up to) but they certainly didn’t need to air it live and unedited.
He did say at least one true thing:
“When I’m reelected — and we will get reelected, we have no choice, we’re not going to have a country anymore…”
The switch to the royal ‘we’ is a sure sign that if he gets reelected he will establish a monarchy. I’m dead certain he believes that this democracy thing is for losers. He will rename the United States of America to Trumplandia. As a very funny man once said “It’s good to be the KIng”.
Don Junior is not much of an heir apparent
Of course not. It’s Eric.
I’m not a journalist, but maybe a way to do it would be to air an edited version where they point out and correct every lie he says. Airing stuff like this unchallenged (even with pearl-clutching chyrons) is the real problem. Without challenging what is said, they’re just platforming him. I don’t get why news orgs don’t seem to understand the difference here.
As someone who is surrounded by Trump fans 6 days out of 7, I wish PBS hadn’t used the word ‘actors’. They know what they mean, we know what they mean, but Trumpers will get confused and think PBS means ‘crisis actors’.
I’m not kidding.
I also wish PBS had covered up the fundraising pitch for Trump. Public broadcasting shouldn’t be airing advertisments for free for anybody.
