About 150,000 Russian troops in Ukraine, as of 3/22, so this is a lot of them.

I wonder if they can get DNA and link soldiers to war crimes.

ETA: Or just email addresses, or those of their families. Doubt they have much internet access in the field, but emailing them directly with objective information about the war, and letting them know they’re accountable for their actions would be a weird twist on war.

Nothing says ‘your commanders have no idea’ like the leaking of the details of every single soldier in the invasion. Well played, Anonymous, well played indeed.

I thought that it was Anonymous who identified the Russian soldiers shipping goods back home, but is seems like that was journalists.

They’re soldiers. From Russia. They have little personal data besides how many smokes they’d trade for some hardcore German porn.

Not saying that it’s not important to have accountability about who is doing what and where. Just maybe the anon hackers could be focusing on Russian telecommunications, weapon systems, and further humiliating the oligarchs.

One possible way is to match IMEI codes of stolen phones to calls made back to families. Since Russian troops had their phones confiscated before the invasion started, the first thing they did was loot phones off of Ukrainian civilians.
