So she wasn’t as bad as she could have been? Nah, fuck that. To paraphrase the great Malcolm X, you don’t get extra credit for stabbing someone and then pulling the knife part of the way out.
I think there is probably a very good analogy between the two things. I don’t know how this could be studies reasonably, but a study did say that giving anti-vaxx people accurate information about vaccines tends to make them more not less anti-vaxx.
I’m guessing this is just as true of people who are committed to racist and fascist ideologies. If you come up with facts to prove that whatever they are saying isn’t true that will convince them that being racist is even more important.
We have to distinguish between language that is meant to express ideas and language that is meant to achieve ends. A fascist is not making an argument that can be refuted. They are attempting to bring about fascism. Refuting their argument can show them to be wrong, but only to people who already have a worldview that language is about precise description of ideas.
You’ve confused CNN with Fox.
No I haven’t. CNN loves hiring ex-Trump officials.
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/20/business/media/sarah-isgur-flores-cnn.html “Sarah Isgur Flores, a Republican spokeswoman who worked most recently for the Justice Department, has been hired by CNN to help with the network’s political coverage, propelling a Trump administration official directly into a news role for a top cable network.” See also https://theintercept.com/2019/02/20/cnn-hires-trump-official-who-used-same-anti-press-rhetoric-as-man-who-sent-bombs-to-cnn/
This is what i wanted to say, but couldn’t properly compose. Thank you!

I read that post as being satirical.
Satire is dead.
