Gee, willikers, but I thought Face***k was going to put a stop to conspiracy theories and weaponized lies.

That “was” is your sign that the American news media are a fraud.

My one criticism is that paying people to keep working is a great idea for keeping businesses alive, but as long as it doesn’t involve exposing more people.

But otherwise yes, please, this. So far my employer is stumbling along (though our hourly staff are surely in sure straits), but we would definitely qualify, and that would take a huge amount of pressure off.

“We need some simplicity and efficiency,” Sanders told Vox. “If I lost my job and I’m trying to get through to unemployment, I can’t make that connection, because they are overwhelmed.”

Meanwhile, time to take advantage of the crisis:

In order to receive funds, landlords and lenders would [agree to] prohibit rent increases, evictions without just cause, discrimination against voucher holders and more.

Perhaps most ambitiously, the legislation seeks to establish a fund to finance the purchase of private rental properties by not-for-profits, public housing authorities, community land trusts and state and local governments.

i honestly the majority of republican misbehavior is to soak up oxygen, to stop people ( the media ) from talking about possibilities like this

“But… it’ll be communism/Sharia law!!! It’s unAmerican! We can’t help the poors, how will they learn to use their own bootstraps!” they shout as they bail out yet another corporation and give tax breaks to the wealthy…

I’d like that better if didn’t rely on the phrase “mass protests”.

The grammar therein is also incorrect.

Nitpicky, but I never want anyone to look the “Don’t Be a Moran” guy.

The White House being pissed-off is just a bonus.

Crazy, crazy shit, mon. Just for starters, the way Trump wants to leave everything up to individual states, but then control what states do.

The end of that piece is especially noteworthy:

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

The first of the two chartered flights with millions of masks and gloves from China already arrived in Chicago on Thursday, CBS 2 VIAC Chicago reported. The second flight, filled with similar cargo, is scheduled to land next week. Earlier on Wednesday, Pritzker had confirmed that “shipments” were scheduled to arrive, though he did not explicitly say if they were coming from China.

Is Trump going to send goons to seize that cargo, then secretly sell it elsewhere? And who the fuck is getting the money when the feds do that? If he does send goons, I hope Pritzker raises holy hell about it. He’s looking like he has the moxie or whatever to do that.

This is exactly how the “Tea Party” started: five-ten old white racist shitheads somehow gathering more “liberal media” attention than all the anti-Iraq War protests combined.

Remember, war sells papers. So, how did the “liberal” New York Times swing on the obviously fraudulent and illegal Iraq War? Anyone but me remember?

Now Trump is their meal ticket, and they will do anything to keep him in office. Playing up these fake protests will be just one of their games.

Note: I think Josh’s “bamboozled” here is very polite, I’m very certain that the media outlets are absolutely in on the con.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time:

If the feds are seizing this stuff, where are Trump’s brag tweets when they, in turn, pass them on to some (red) place that presumably needs them? We know that he’d do it, because he’s Trump, plus for the political capital.

So what are they doing with it, a giant play-room for Jared to roll around in?

Katie Porter is the most obviously qualified for this position. Nothing against Shalala; but this just isn’t in her bailiwick.

Definitely making it seem like the fix is in.

What I will say is that doing her first stint as Speaker, Pelosi aggressively pursued ethics and corruption issues, even to the detriment of the Democratic Party.
