Well, I don’t know about that; I don’t think the system would have been designed around such a rare event. Normally at the very least you’d have candidates like Gabbard hanging in there just for the heck of it. I agree though that this is cynical abuse of a loophole, and I think the NY leadership (a) should and (b) will get punished for it, if not through external reversal then through internal war from NY Democrats like AOC.
