Putin is learning what so many other people found out the hard way: invest in something with the Trump brand name and later learn you got a lot less than what you paid for.

Putin’s investment wasn’t specifically driven by the goal to get Trump elected or even to put a Russia-friendly government in Washington, it was to erode Americans’ confidence in institutions like the election system and the free press, thus fragmenting the country and making Russia’s global position stronger. Even if Trump is ridden out of D.C. on a rail Putin has succeeded in that. In the meantime having a Russian agent in the Oval Office is just a bonus.

then insisted they weren’t being held in cages
they lied for weeks until there was video proof, then still denied it for awhile longer, then they were sued and lied to the court about re-unification

With his tone on Crimea and NATO and the meeting with Putin it’s obvious that Pompeo is covering his arse and currying favour with what remains of establishment Republicans. Between Il Douche’s handler in Moscow and his isolationist supporters who are paranoid about the “Deep State” that means won’t be long before we see another new Secretary of State.
Meanwhile Dolt-45’s national security advisor, the Angry Moustache of War, is taking a middle course since he knows how terrible the optics of a Putin visit in November would be.
