Portrait of Democratic Party's congressional interns

Interesting. When I was a Senate Page (summer 1976), there was more diversity among Republican Pages than among the Democratic Pages. I long thought that the first African American and Female President(s) would be Republican. Since Reagan, though, the Republicans have been doing their best to purge the party of women, non-whites and non-hetero-normative constituents. They’ve done shot themselves in both feet and then put them in their mouth!

Hate gerrymandering. If a federal office is involved, only the feds can change the district.

What, no Sikh men, Moslem women, orthodox Jewish men, or skinheads?

To put this more explicitly; even if we assume that minorities are fully and proportionately represented in the RNC crop of interns (an heroic assumption), don’t you think it … interesting that none of them are interested in what Ryan has to say?

(except for women - it baffles me that so many women are interested in furthering the RNC agenda. Ladies; WTF?)
((and yes, I know that demographically women aren’t a minority, in fact they’re the majority, but in terms of representation in the corridors of power they remain a minority))

So, blatant prejudice doesn’t upset the “money people” from the other major political party, and that’s why they don’t have to bother hiring minorities?

I mean, yeah, I already knew that (from the inside), but thanks for confirming the chasm of difference when it comes to human and civil rights.

Here’s the thing. Even if Obama was in a room where every aide was white, it would still be a more diverse group than these Republican counterparts because the guy at the front of the room is African-American.

We have a lot of forum posters on BB who (rightly) abhor many of Obama’s center-right policies, and who conclude that there isn’t any significant difference between the parties, but I think these photos are prima facie evidence to the contrary.

There can’t be that many white people.
