Public Citizen's Fox News ad shows Trump putting a fox in every henhouse

That’s Bannon’s thing, at least. Trump is out for himself. But he’s not smart enough to figure out how messing with various elements of the federal government will get him what he wants for his businesses. So he relies on others to help him out, and their agendas come into it.

Yeah, surely all these things are, to some degree, provably true? It’s hard to know what, specifically, is motivating him at any given time. He owes massive amounts of money to foreign creditors, he’s got huge conflicts of interest and vital revenues that rely on maintaining/creating relationships with foreign governments (or specific people within those governments), he’s also beholden to his donors, only trusts people who uncritically supported him up to now (i.e. crazy idiots and ideologues with specific, extremist agendas), isn’t smart enough to figure things out on his own - nor does he have a decent staff who know things - so he and his staff are heavily vulnerable to lobbyists who can take advantage of his self-serving nature, etc. The Russians have at least withheld embarrassing campaign documents to help him, though who knows what else they have on him, and whether any of it rises to the level of blackmail. Given all the other massive issues, it’s almost irrelevant. He’s already on course to do so much damage by being (mis)lead by others who are convincing him certain actions will benefit him, and relying on his own delusional beliefs to promote his self-interests, not to mention sometimes he’s doing damage because he’s just lashing out due to his personality disorders.

I agree, I had to pause it multiple times in order to take in the headlines. I can not imagine this ad having any effect at all on someone who wasn’t already very receptive to the message.

Preaching to the choir. We hold these truths to be self-evident. Trumpkins, not so much.

But they’re not REPUBLICANS, they’re Independents!

A more effective ad would be a cartoon in the style of Tex Avery or Chuck Jones, depicting a wolf with a golden pompadour, actually installing other wolves in cartoon henhouses. Appeal to the inner children of the Boomer audience at Fox in order to get a simpler message across. Use humor to keep their attention.

Forget about converting Trumpsters; it just ain’t gonna happen, at least not on the mass scale required.

You don’t need ads that appeal to Trump voters. You need ads that appeal to the much larger group of Americans who didn’t or couldn’t vote.

It also ignores the way people watch commercials … usually with their eyes on something else. The entire audio message is just quotes from Trump.
