No-one here is denying that they’re humans. No-one here is attacking them because they love their pets or are great at crafting or want the government to build autobahns to drive on. We’re pointing out that they’re right-wing extremist humans, as signaled by the hats or armbands that they themselves choose to wear. That’s all we need to understand about how they view a lot of other humans.

Convincing Nazis to stop being murder dreaming idiots is a worthy thing to do.
So why are you here talking to us? Shouldn’t you be spending your time on Nazi boards convincing them to change. Please let us know how they respond to your loving compassion for them. Don’t be upset when they SWAT you or dox you because despite the fact they might now be trying to hurt or kill you, they still love their grandma and that is more important than your right to live.

And to be fair I do think efforts to save people from racist ideologies is a valid endeavor.
Patton Oswald recently had success with a troll.
But telling us we can’t be critical of racists ideologies that call for the complete extermination of many groups of people is not going to convert any Nazis.

I do, too. But I find those efforts work under very specific circumstances, not by going on the assumption that fascists are just like us.

Yes, exactly. Saving a single person from a gang, a cult, or Nazis which is a bit both will be hard work. Systems are in place to shield individuals from outside influence. Their entire social circle self monitors each other. Often an individual’s sense of self worth is all tied into aspects of membership. Getting past these defenses and offering a single individual a path out is just really difficult.
Excusing racists behavior on a BBS full of mostly liberal folks will do nothing to help the individual in the above scenario escape whatever messed up social mess they are in.

Yeah, in fact, one could more easily make the opposite argument, from facts, than what the commenter declared.
There are known cases of, for example, Jews who disguised themselves as Nazis to avoid detection; millions of people feared for their lives, and Nazi armbands could help protect them from persecution by “passing.”
Whereas, excepting rare ironic usage, only people who believe in “MAGA,” a fundamentally racist, authoritarian movement, have reason to wear the hats.

Like how are we supposed to know the guy in a suit sells Oxy? That loading dock doesn’t look to be anywhere near a doctor’s office.
And the golfer? there’s nothing in the scene to suggest he has any connection to Trump or anyone else

You are right about that MAGA hat wearers mostyl aren’t Nazis, insofar as actual national socialism, specifically, is a fringe ideology these days in the US. That is probably in part due to the Nazis being a very popular scapegoat for sanctifying US war mongering for the past 80 years, and national socialism therefore being considered “unamerican”. The Nazis represent the last universally accepted justification for a US invasion into foreign territory. There have been many such invasions since, and they were all due to economic and political interests, so not nearly as sexy as fighting an ultimately villainous ideology like Nazism.
What MAGA hat wearers are though is (mostly) adults who consciously embrace and support racism, bigotry, misogyny, inequality, fiscal irresponsibility and general stupidity and lack of culture. National socialists most of them aren’t, but plain old fascists they sure are.
Maybe if you wait another 80 years or so it will be “confirmed by evidence”.
