I wonder if he may end up writing a lot of these speculative projects as novels. I have a copy of the Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood novelization I haven’t read (mostly because Mrs Peas manically “puts things away” in weird places). From everything I read it had pretty universal acclaim and was a great story that added a lot to the film. It would be nice not to have to chase studio money (or catch as it’s thrown at him), deal with scheduling and the grind of production, I’m sure.

I thought the Bruce Lee bit was the only real sour note of the movie. He was known to be a philanderer and egotist, but not a bully.

Edit:

All good things come to an end

I won’t deny that Tarantino has a strong visual aesthetic, and has made some great movies. Or at least there were parts in his movies i really liked, but the parts that didn’t work for me ruined my enjoyment and experience. Not to mention that he’s a creep and an edgelord.

I get why people like his work, but as i get older the less i’m interested in his nonsense.

Sounds like shite so far. Guess I’ll have to go see it. I hope it comes out before 2025.

It’s easy to announce one’s retirement, then get an extra boost by doing another project that has to be extra special to have lured you away from drinks by the pool.

Pretty sure it has to feature revenge in some form, doesn’t it? (“Revenge of the Revenge: A revenge story” …plus some quite good pop music)

When you consider that a lot of his later films are “revenge porn” (Django Unchained, Inglorious Basterds, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood), where he gets to fantasize how history might’ve played out, with assholes getting their comeuppance, I think we have a good idea what happens to the title character in this film.

Well this looks to be the most revengiest of his movies - which are basically all revenge movies except maybe Once Upon a time in Hollywood - and I can’t wait to see what befalls those who criticise his movies.

Also, small aside to admin.: Sometimes the “Comments” link on the article seems to link back to itself. I manage to bypass this with a little cut n’ paste action, but is this happening for anyone else?

Happens pretty often, i’ve managed to get it fixed by complaining about it here in the comments but it happens with enough frequency that these days i just end up going to the forums and then hunting for the relevant topic. It’s a lot of extra clicking for sure
