Even in that case, that’s not exactly what they said. What they said was that they were on the lookout for suspicious behavior, and Loudermilk’s tour group didn’t seem suspicious. The implication is, at that time. As in, before the insurrection happened. They left room to say, “Well, sure, NOW it’s suspicious as hell. But at the time, it didn’t.” CYA

well sure, buildings of that stature usually have custom light fixtures, and they’re all over the place. If you fill the frame, they can be made to look interesting, but tourists are notorious for not using the proper lenses.

On the other hand, having the proper lenses for surveillence would be obvious to onlookers,
