As a fellow recovering alcoholic I concur. That poor woman probably lives in terror of her husband. I hope this is the wake up call she needs to finally get away from him, I doubt he’s going to change at this point.

Also: “sex” under threat of physical violence? That there is “rape.”
The guy who co-sponsored the anti-abortion bill is a rapist. Which is actually pretty “on-brand,” I guess.

Republican foreplay at its finest.

Republican spousal abuse must not be tolerated.

No spousal abuse at all should be tolerated, nor should Republican policies and rhetoric that contribute to making it tolerable.

A proven, violent drunk.

A suggested plan of action:

  1. escape with the kids
  2. get a restraining order
  3. change your names
  4. move out of state

The current ‘Christian’ morality with regard to abortion, for example, was created in 1984. It literally wasn’t a thing before that, except as an individual personal belief. So the lie that non-Christian morality changes every generation is particularly ironic.

Who are you? Xtianist Yoda?

The Republican anti-choice position and this particular Republican’s feeling of entitlement to sex with his wife on his terms alone are both connected by the common thread of conservative men wanting to control (or have dominion over, as it were) women’s bodies.

“The 58-year-old McLeod has represented George and Stone counties since 2012. He’s unopposed for re-election this year.”

Christ on a bike! Is there still time to change that last bit?

The best part of it is that if he’s convicted they will take away his Freedom Penis™ and he won’t be allowed to ejaculate lead at shudder dark-skinned people any longer.

So is this rapist going on a sex offender list? If not, why not?

Why should that matter? According to today’s Evangelicals women must always always submit to their husbands’ “needs”. Marital rape is a feminist lie designed to destroy the family and it’s relationship with God. And yes, a huge proportion of American Christians believe this. Oh, they’ll say a husband should be a sensitive, loving Master. But in the end he is the Master. To quote Saul, the Apostate, Saul the Psychomotor Epileptic Murderer from Tarsus, Enemy of James the Righteous in his letter to the Ephesians:

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

Sounds like she should have fixed him another ‘drink.’
