I’m unclear on how that plan is substantially different from the last one. So they’re making (most) of the Speaker candidates sign on to a pledge to support the winner of a secret ballot. But what difference does that make if they can’t get all their House members to agree to that as well? After he dropped out of the running Scalise put his support behind Jordan, but Jordan still lost.

considering the orange one has said repeatedly he won’t support the presidential nominee unless it’s he himself… i don’t think many of them are going to be into signing that sort of thing.
