Ha! This reminds me of when trump did… something (I don’t remember which heinous thing), that actually made me kind of miss George W Bush! It just seems so quaint now to hate Gates for Microsoft’s hegemony or his shitty copyright attacks on the Homebrew Computer Club (still 100% ok to hate W for war crimes).

I often don’t trust medical professionals, because in many cases I have specific reason and sufficient knowledge to see that they’re wrong. This does not actually help anyone, because 1) anyone who tries to provide some alternate source of authority is going to be worse most of the time, the problem of trusting authority is quite general, and 2) if you need medical help, you still need to find a doctor, because we gate all the medical interventions behind a lot of bureaucracy that you do still have to get through.
