RIP René Auberjonois

That’s right, isn’t it. There’s something poignant about the way these deaths seem to make the past into a lost world. Our younger selves that once watched Odo are gone with him.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting him (and talking fairly extensively with him) on the Star Trek Cruise. He gave more than a few intimate talks on that cruise about his time as Odo, how much he hated being in makeup but did it evey day for the fans, and always made sure to take his role seriously.

He was a beautiful, sincere, and talented man. He will be missed. :frowning:

The Donald has left us for the great World of Stuff in the sky. :frowning:

I also didn’t know that was him in Benson that I used to watch in the rad 80s.

Yep. Me too. Wherein his metamorphosis prefigures changelingness.

I’m just in the middle of rewatching DS9, coincidence… He’s one of the reason this show is the greatest Star Trek show (apart from the original obviously)

This is so sad. He was such a nice guy.

Same here almost – I’m watching for the first time, up to S01E17. His voice is very much with me.

(sure the actor’s a nice guy, but that character grates on me personally)

I mean when I watched it I always thought they were saying “lake”, not link…

“Great Lake” actually made me LOL, in part because it works either way, as @KathyPartdeux points out.
