I don’t think the bankruptcy courts are going to have much patience for his ongoing efforts to avoid disclosing assets.

For a guy who spent a career as a prosecutor he’s incredibly bad at winning over judges.

If the average American was required to pay out 1% of that amount, they’d end up in a trailer park or out on the street. Any bets on where Rudolph will end up?

‘‘Streets do not exist in civilized societies for the purpose of people sleeping there,’’ the mayor said yesterday during his weekly radio call-in show. ‘‘Bedrooms are for sleeping.’’ He added that the right to sleep on the streets ‘‘doesn’t exist anywhere. The founding fathers never put that in the Constitution.’’

Mr. Giuliani referred several times to yesterday morning’s front-page headline in The Daily News. The headline, ‘‘Get the Violent Crazies Off Our Streets,’’ was for a two-page editorial inside that demanded the city remove the ‘‘dangerously deranged’’ from city streets and put them in institutions.

Does he really get to call himself “Mayor Giuliani” for life? I thought that sort of thing was reserved for presidents and other bigwigs.

Edit: he doesn’t.

I’m not an expert on this, but I thought bankruptcy would not discharge obligations from a judgment. Anybody know for certain?

It usually won’t shield you from it. There are actual rules about declaring bankruptcy when you know of an actual or possible pending judgment against you. This debt will not be dischargeable through bankruptcy. This is likely a move to generate sympathy, and possibly donations.

Nope, declaring bankruptcy won’t get him off the hook.

The judgment is “nondischargeable” in a bankruptcy proceeding, Laurie Levenson, a law professor at Loyola Marymount University, told Salon. The only way Giuliani can get around this is by having the court reduce the judgment, winning an appeal, or settling with the plaintiffs.

Declaring bankruptcy will most likely be unhelpful for Giuliani since it doesn’t cover intentional torts, like defamation. That’s why Alex Jones was unable to discharge his debt, Fleischman explained.

Absolutely certain that Trump has stopped returning Giuliani’s increasingly desperate calls. Mind you, I’m not sure, despite all the bluster, if he has that sort of money.

Another one of the faithful used up and destroyed by willingly lying and defaming to protect TFG - and the rest of them still don’t learn.

It’ll be Don jnr and Eric’s turn soon…

Popcorn time!

So…actual bankruptcy in addition to complete moral bankruptcy.

Excellent!

Well, there are Rudy’s other creditors-- his lawyers, for instance, and by declaring bankruptcy he may get out from under some of them. And even if he has to give most of his money to pay this judgement, the court won’t force him out on the streets, penniless. He’ll be allowed enough to live on. Hopefully no more than enough for an efficiency out in West Bendover. If he gets to keep a condo on the FL coast or in NYC I’ll be disgusted.
